Shakira commenca a chanter à l'age de huit ans avec sa 1ere chanson qu'elle composa elle meme : gafas de sol .Elle devint connu en Colombie en passant a des emissions télé mais les producteurs ne voulaient pas signer de contrat avec elle car il pensaient qu'elle n'en valaient pas la peine. Mais les dirigeants de sony music sont attiré dans un "piège" et invité dans un bar ou shakira leur chantera 3 chansons. Ils tombent alros sous son charme et décidèrent de signer son contrat. Elle sortit alors à 13 ans son permier album (magia) puis à 16 ans un 2eme ( peligro). Elle n'a pourtant toujours pas de succés et reprends alros ses cours au lycée.
Elle jouera ensuite dans une série (El oasis) ou elle chantera le générique et devint alors connu dans l'amérique du sud. Elle sortira ensuite son 1er album a succés : pies descalzos. Puis avec la sortir de son single Whenever whenever dans le monde entier elle deviendra une star internationnale. ♪
